Le stress? La faute des Super-Héros

Un facteur important du déclenchement de toutes sortes de maladies est le stress: problèmes d'estomac, migraines, hypertension voire plus grave! 

Nous y sommes soumis du matin au soir et ce n'est pas tant la quantité de stress qui nous cause du tort que la manière dont nous y répondons.

Mais comment naît le stress?

Le stress est une réaction normale de l’humain : nous nous mettons en état d’alerte pour évaluer si une situation ou une personne que nous rencontrons est dangereuse pour nous.

Bien sûr, nous n’avons plus à combattre des animaux dangereux ou faire face quotidiennement à la loi du plus fort prévalant dans la nature.

Malgré que notre environnement ne soit plus infesté d’ennemis et d’animaux sauvages, nous gardons cette capacité de nous mettre immédiatement en éveil : lorsque nous conduisons par exemple, nous nous plaçons en état de stress positif. Cette mise sous tension va garantir que nous faisons suffisamment attention pour nous amener à bon port sur le trajet.

Quand la circulation est fluide, nous ne le ressentons même plus : notre inconscient a classifié les situations potentiellement dangereuses et nous passons presque en « pilote automatique ».

Ne nous est-il jamais arrivé de rater la bonne sortie d’autoroute, perdu que nous étions dans nos pensées ?

Par contre, lorsque la circulation est dense, notre état de stress s’intensifie et se prolonge, fatigant notre corps.

Lorsque les situations perdent de l’intensité, ce stress diminue ou disparaît, le corps peut alors se relâcher et reprendre un niveau de fonctionnement normal.

Attention le stress n’est pas uniquement provoqué par l’environnement :

Comme notre inconscient ne sait pas faire la différence entre la réalité et notre pensée, que nos pensées génèrent des manifestations physiques, il suffit d’avoir à l’esprit des situations stressantes pour que ce stress s’active sans intervention extérieure.

Penser ne pas être à la hauteur d’une tâche, imaginer une situation que nous n’avons jamais vécue, comme

• nous rendre à un rendez-vous dans un endroit où nous ne sommes jamais allés,
• penser à la masse de dossiers que nous avons à régler aujourd’hui,
• penser à être à l’heure pour récupérer les enfants à l’école alors que nous sommes déjà en retard,
• penser à cette rencontre professionnelle qui va peut-être changer le cours de notre vie….

Nous passons notre journée à inventorier et à ressentir les effets de ces pensées stressantes.

Et le corps n’a pas l’occasion de se reposer car nous entretenons la pensée de ces milliers d’inquiétudes permanentes.

Cela peut-être encore pire :

Lorsque le corps et l’esprit arrivent à saturation, tout peut devenir une montagne. Nous sentons alors notre capacité à gérer les situations diminuer furieusement, les angoisses apparaissent. C’est le niveau supérieur du stress.

Nous ne pouvons alors même plus contrôler nos pensées, ni nos émotions et sensations. Nous entretenons des scénarios catastrophes.

Sauf que : la plupart d’entre eux ne se produiront pas et que nous allons faire souffrir notre corps inutilement.

De plus, la plupart de nos pensées stressantes son générées par la différence entre la réalité que nous vivons et celle que nous voudrions vivre. Nous sommes en danger de ne pas correspondre à l'image que nous voulons avoir de nous.

Nous sommes aux prises avec nos Super-Héros intérieurs: nous ne sommes jamais à la hauteur de qui nous voudrions être.
